A Shopify month total can look healthy while yesterday was quiet, one channel carried the number, or the SKUs people want are sitting at zero. Starting with the top line hides that. You grow the figure you already watch, and you miss the figure that would change what you do today.
Start with the figures that explain how the business is performing. Get sales and stock discipline first. Rebuild the shop only when the shop is the thing in the way.
What the top line hides
Gross sales is a useful total. It is a poor first question.
Ask what sat underneath it. Sales against a target you set, or last year plus 15 percent if you have not set one. Net sales after discounts, refunds and disputes, so a promo week is not mistaken for a good week. Stock with weeks of cover from recent sales, so you see what will run out and what has been sitting. Open orders still waiting to ship, split from known waits such as preorders.
Look beyond the total for warning signs: a total that looks fine, a hole in one channel, a hero SKU with no cover, and a queue of orders that never left the warehouse.
Sales and stock first
Theo Analytics is Fyntri's Shopify app. It emails those reports: sales vs target, hourly sales, net sales, stock, outstanding orders, and a monthly review. The product is the inbox, not another dashboard login. Free, Pro and Business sit on the App Store as Theo Sales & Stock Reports.
Use that before you buy more traffic or rebuild the theme. If the total is up because of a discount, net will say so. If the total is down because you sold out, stock will say so. If the total is fine and fulfilment is not, outstanding orders will say so. Those are operating facts. They are not a growth slogan.
When the store is the lever
Sometimes the numbers are clear and the shop still leaks. The theme is old. Mobile checkout is clumsy. Collections dump people into a wall of SKUs. Product pages hide delivery or preorder rules. That is a store problem, not a reporting problem.
Fyntri is a UK Shopify Partner for that work. Live stores are on Work: Geek Out and Comic Warehouse.
Standard setup or rebuild is £5,000. A rebuild keeps the products already on the store. The 100-product cap applies to new imports from a clean CSV. Theme, brand graphics, sample AI imagery where you lack photos, core UK checkout, essential pages, up to three apps configured, one batched revision, handover. Caps are written first.
Past that list, Custom is a written quote for the named scope: platform moves, extra import work, apps, integrations, supplier feeds.
Next step
If you want the reports, start with Theo Analytics. If the shop itself is the limit, contact or email [email protected] with the store URL and whether this is a new setup, a rebuild, or a move. We say Standard at £5,000 or Custom with a written estimate before anyone locks a timeline. Scope: Services and Pricing.
